Rabbi Yale New was born and raised in Atlanta,GA. He studied in Atlanta, New York, Chicago, Israel and Detroit before receiving his Rabbinic ordination from the Rabbinical College of America in Atlanta. He initiated The Friendship Circle together with his wife Rickelle, in Decemeber 2011. yale@fcatlanta.org

Rickelle New grew up in Melbourne, Australia where she volunteered as a teenager for the Friendship Circle. After graduation she continued studies in Tzfat, Israel. She then continued on to Detroit where she worked as a program and volunteer coordinator for friendship Circle of Michigan, before initiating Friendship Circle of Atlanta together with her husband, Rabbi Yale New, in December 2011. rickelle@fcatlanta.org

 Shlomo grew up in Bahia Blanca, Argentina, speaks 4 languages and loves to travel. After studying in the united states, he received his Rabbinical Ordination from the Chief Rabbi of Israel. As past event Coordinator for a number of international organizations Shlomo developed strong leadership and organizational skills which he now employs                                to develop the success of Friendship Circle.

 

sonia.jpgSonia Hoffman, Program & Volunteer Coordinator

Sonia Hoffman is originally from Providence, Rhode Island, but has been living in Atlanta for 5 years with her husband and 3 kids. Sonia is passionate about spreading the message that special needs children should be included and loved, just like everyone else. She is very excited to be working with Friendship Circle and hopes to bring a lot of fun and exciting new programs to the community! sonia@fcatlanta.org

 Chanky, with her friendly and warm personality, is a perfect fit for our Family Liaison position. She spent  a year studying in Italy and a year directing programs for Chabad of Helsinki, Finland. Her passion for creating meaningful relationships led her to take the role of Director of CTeen International's New York Shabbaton where she met her husband Shlomo. Chanky is a doula and a childbirth educator.As someone who enjoys creating meaningful relationships she looks forward to meeting you!

 

 lisa furie.jpgLisa Furie, Lead Behavioral Specialist

Lisa is a preschool teacher at the Epstein school with a background and passion for the special needs population. Lisa has a Masters in Special Education and an add-on for working with individuals with severe disabilities. She spent many years working with individuals with autism and behavioral disabilities both at the Center for Autism and Related Disabilities in Florida and North Metro in Fulton County. She is excited to assist the volunteers and participants in getting the most out of their experiences.
